Why We Start With Drainage First

Detoxing sounds exciting—until your body throws a fit.

If you’ve ever tried a cleanse and felt worse instead of better (hello, headaches, breakouts, and zero energy), you’re not alone. And you’re not doing it wrong. You’re just skipping a crucial step: drainage.

So… what is drainage, really?

Drainage is your body’s natural plumbing system — it’s how your organs move toxins and waste out. Think lymphatic system, liver, colon, kidneys, skin, and bile flow. If these pathways are sluggish, toxins don’t leave. They recirculate.

Imagine trying to clean your house while the trash is piling up and the toilet’s backed up. That’s detoxing without drainage.

Drainage vs. Detox: What’s the difference?

  • Drainage = opening the exit doors

  • Detox = pushing junk out of the cells

If you detox before drainage, it’s like yelling “Everybody out!” in a crowded building… with all the doors locked. No one’s going anywhere. You feel worse, not better.

Signs your drainage pathways are clogged:

  • Constant bloat

  • Brain fog

  • Skin breakouts or rashes

  • Irritability

  • Constipation or slow digestion

  • Hormone imbalance

  • Waking up tired (even after 8 hours)

What we do instead:

At Resolved Wellness

, we always start with drainage support before diving into deeper protocols. That looks like:

  • Supporting liver & bile flow with herbs or castor oil packs

  • Moving the lymph with dry brushing or sauna

  • Opening up the colon with magnesium or gentle bowel movers

  • Staying hydrated with mineral-rich water

  • Making sure you’re actually pooping daily (non-negotiable)

Once the exits are clear, then we get into deeper work like detoxing mold, heavy metals, or pathogens. That’s how we keep clients safe, supported, and actually getting results.

Bottom line:

If your body can’t drain, it can’t detox.Start slow, support your foundations, and let your body do what it was designed to do.
